Welcome to the Engineering technology Program

Introducing the Engineering Technology Experience

Hello and Welcome to our students, parents, fellow educators, community members, stakeholders, industry partners, and advisory board. Take a glimpse of the FIT’s engineering technology program and all of its opportunities for young minds to grow. This program allows the students access to engineering tools for FREE like 3D printers, laser cutters, robotics, and computer-aided design. Students will be put to work designing inventions of their own and getting the idea of creating wonderful mechanisms.

You will meet your dependable instructor that’ll be at the FIT building throughout the school day ready to provide any help necessary. Students will be pushed to greatness and come out ahead of the game. This program offers many scholarships and academic achievements to show you the path you’d like to follow. SkillsUSA will also be waiting for students to test their engineering skills. Once entered your skills will be seen by industry workers to decide whether you’ll get apprentice opportunities.

“A team of three students demonstrates their ability to design an innovative engineering project and present those ideas along with a display and live model. During the presentation; students are judged on their performance as a professional team, presentation of their project to a panel of judges from the engineering field, their storyboard presentation model, and the overall effect of the presentation.”-SkillsUSA. https://www.skillsusa.org/competitions/skillsusa-championships/contest-descriptions/

The Unforgettable Learning Experience

A Message From Students

“One question that I get asked a lot is ‘what all do you do in there’. I respond when our teacher gives us a task or problem and I/we are to solve it with our imaginations then create our ideas. It’s fun to come up with an idea, design it, and be able to build it and make it come to reality.
“Engineering Technology is a stepping stone to becoming an engineer in any field; it helps you get accustomed to how it will be in a real job scenario with our simulated workplace classroom environment. Past students have been very complimentary on how much the program helps them prepare for continuing our engineering education in college.”

“Willingness to learn and an interest in engineering. We participate in Skills USA and VEX Robotics competitions. Anyone can be an Engineer, you just have to come in with a ready-to-learn attitude. All kinds Welcome!”

“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often better then a master of one” – A quote mentioned by Emily Griffith

Being a perfect way to describe your experience in Engineering Technology. You, the student, will be learning multiple skills in the class and not just mastering one so that FIT can broaden your skills as much as possible for many reasons to get you ready for the real world.
